Challenge Coin, Rosie the Riveter w. 576 Tattoo

$25.76

NEW! Only 100 in this series and numbered; each coin is numbered 1 of 100! Iconic Rosie the Riveter honors the 576’s role in WWII, and the also the courageous women (and men!) who worked diligently in American factories. American Locomotive Works in Schenectady, NY was the birthplace of the 576, and Rosie displays a 576 tattoo! Reverse side is from an actual photograph of the mud ring riveting process on the fireman’s side in the Nashville Steam Shop in 2024. Check the detail of the rivet gun – 1 of 100 is shown, indicative of this limited coin’s production run.

Beautiful enameled metal 2″ double sided 576 Challenge Coin weighs in at 1.5 ounces and ready to be gifted to a fellow railroad enthusiast, or introduce a new fan to the 576 and it’s history in Nashville.

Historically, challenge coins were collected by service members and law enforcement personnel, and were presented by unit commanders in recognition of special achievement by a member of the unit. They could also be exchanged in recognition of visits to an organization.
