We're not trailing behind on this #TechTuesday! Nashville Steam recently removed the wheels from the trailing truck for inspection and repairs. The trailing truck is located behind the drivers and supports the weight of the firebox. Like the driver wheels, the trailing truck wheels will be sent off to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum for servicing. #SteamTheStripe ... See MoreSee Less
Unfortunately the Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway never actually made it to St. Louis. But we’re sure glad a Big Boy did! Thanks Union Pacific Railroad for to the opportunity to see 4014 up close! We can’t wait to bring this same kind of excitement to Music City with No. 576!! #ALCOstrong #UP4014 ... See MoreSee Less
While the drivers are off in Chattanooga, work continues in Nashville to disassemble the engine truck and remove the pilot wheels. No. 576 will be getting an all new set of pilot wheels as the originals are already at the end of their life span. Restoring steam engines can be a costly endeavor. Help us continue the work on No. 576 by making a contribution at www.nashvillesteam.org/donate/. Every bit helps bring this historic treasure back to life! #SteamTheStripe ... See MoreSee Less
