Your eyes are not deceiving you! There is water in 576's boiler for the first time in more than 70 years. Our team is gradually pressurizing the boiler so we can identify and repair any leaks as we prep for our official hydrostatic test later this summer. Our friends and partners at the Tennessee Central Railway Museum continue to make great progress on overhauling their fleet of first generation EMD motive power. 🚂🥇We're honored to share that Shane Meador, President of the Nashville Steam, has received the Historic Preservation Recognition Medal from the Daughters of the American Revolution, in recognition of his outstanding leadership in preserving America’s railroad legacy! Presented by the Cecilia Bradford Carroll Chapter in Mt. Juliet, this prestigious award honors his exceptional efforts in restoring and operating historic steam locomotives. We asked members Harry Stinson, Stephen Hook, and Joey Bryan for their thoughts on Shane's recognition in this video, which shows just how far 576 has come since it left Centennial Park.
